The Collaborative Workspace

Network Rail has been lobbied hard by the Freight Technical Committee (a cross industry engineering focused group [chaired by Network Rail] and attended by all FOCs and freight vehicle owners) to establish a collaborative workspace for the dissemination of non-commercially sensitive engineering information.

The RVE team has established the collaborative workspace in order to seize the opportunity to communicate to a wider rail Industry audience in respect of its roles, responsibilities and future requirements and expectations for rail vehicles, whilst delivering an information platform which is of real benefit to the rail industry.

The collaborative workspace is intended to be an electronic bulletin board for sharing engineering related information for Rail Vehicles.

Its principle audience is engineers and engineering managers within Network Rail and its industry partners.
The information involved is wide ranging but typically will relate to infrastructure – rail vehicle interface and interoperability issues, reference documentation, engineering best practise and other engineering information beneficial to the Railway Industry as a whole.
